Preparedness starts with each of us.

During yesterday's Board meeting, my colleagues and I joined the Emergency Management Department in recognizing September as National Preparedness Month. With our region facing the potential for wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and other emergencies, taking a few simple steps now can make a critical difference when disaster strikes.

I encourage every resident to learn about local hazards, create or update a family emergency plan, assemble an emergency kit, and register for Alert RivCo to receive important emergency instructions. RivCoReady

Strong communities are built when local leaders and businesses stay informed and engaged.

Our team connected with members of the Corona Chamber of Commerce during its Legislative Action Committee meeting, where attendees heard updates from Aaron Hake, Executive Director of the Riverside County Transportation Commission. The discussion provided valuable insight into regional transportation priorities and the projects and policies affecting Corona’s business community.

These meetings create an important opportunity to exchange information, hear directly from local employers, and better understand the challenges and opportunities facing businesses throughout our region. Thank you to the Corona Chamber and committee members for continuing to foster thoughtful dialogue and collaboration.

Riverside County is entering a new chapter in sustainable transportation.

Our office joined the Riverside Transit Agency for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the addition of hydrogen-powered vehicles to its fleet and the opening of a new hydrogen fueling station. These investments mark an important step toward modernizing our regional transit system while supporting cleaner, more sustainable transportation options for the communities RTA serves.

Congratulations to the Riverside Transit Agency and everyone who helped bring these important improvements to our region.

Coffee and conversation made for a great morning in Lake Elsinore! Our office stopped by the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station’s Coffee with a Deputy event, where community members could meet local deputies, ask questions, and discuss the public safety issues that matter most to them.

These informal conversations help strengthen trust, improve communication, and build meaningful connections between law enforcement and the residents they serve. Thank you to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station and everyone who came out to connect!

Good local government starts with listening.

Earlier this week, our office hosted the Lakeland Village Town Hall at the Lakeland Village Community Center, bringing residents together with County departments and community partners for important updates and direct conversations about the issues affecting their neighborhood.

Thank you to everyone who shared questions, concerns, and ideas throughout the evening. We also appreciate each participating agency and representative for making themselves available to provide information, explain available resources, and connect directly with residents.

These conversations help us better understand the community’s priorities and ensure Lakeland Village residents have a voice in the decisions that affect them.
