It saddens us to see such a bright and thoughtful individual pass. Dr. Thornton was the first Black member and the first Black Woman on the RARCC board. Thank you to Dr. Thornton for her service and desire to give back to the community. We wish her family and loved ones well. Dr. Thornton’s family has set up a go fund me in support of her 12 year old daughter. The link can be found in our bio. The city of Moreno Valley will also be holding a memorial service, Friday Feb. 5th at 10am via the city’s facebook and youtube accounts, in her honor. Rest In Peace. ✨🦋🕊

The Riverside Area R**e Crisis Center is committed to providing support and services to survivors of sexual assault and their families, and to providing community education to achieve awareness and prevention of sexual assault. The Riverside Area R**e Crisis Center (RARCC) is based on the belief that each individual has a right to control her or his own body and life and to live free from violence and fear. Each individual has the right to feel safe, strong and free. The organization supports the survivor's autonomy in decisions and assists in exploring choices while working through the trauma. The organization believes that through education, the community can become more sensitive, aware, supportive and accepting of the individual's right to be safe and in control of her or his life. The organization is committed to eliminating exploitations in human relationships, reducing the stigma of victims, and emphasizing the value of each human life.
