The volunteer fire company is located in Riverside Township, Burlington County, NJ and provides fire protection and emergency services to the 1.6 square mile community of approximately 8100 residents and to neighboring communities through mutual aid. The goal of Riverside Fire Company No. 1 is to reduce the loss of life and damage to property due to fire and related emergencies by providing qualit

y emergency services through leadership, training, education, prevention, dedication, and support to the citizens of Riverside Township and neighboring communities. The Riverside Fire Company No. 1 has approximately 75 members in the following membership classifications: Active Firefighters, Exempt Firefighters, Fire Police Officers, Junior Firefighters, and Honorary Members. Riverside Fire Company No. 1 apparatus consists of the following:
Command 7000 – a 2017 Ford F-150, Command Vehicle, Chief
Command 7001 – a 2017 Ford F-150, Command Vehicle, Deputy Chief
Engine 7011 – a 2013 Pierce, 2000 GPM pump
Engine 7012 – a 2001 American LeFrance, 1500 GPM pump
Ladder 7015 – a 2005 Pierce, 105’ ladder
Utility 7017 – a 2008 Ford F-250 with snow plow, Support Vehicle
Fire Police 7019 – a 2011 Ford Expedition, Fire Police Unit
Marine 701 – a 2010 Rescue One 18’ boat, 45 HP outboard. In addition to emergency incidents the Riverside Fire Company No. 1 is active in community events, such as: fire prevention activities at schools and businesses; participation in holiday parades, the annual car show, the annual Community Day celebration, and fairs; events involving the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3020 and the American Legion Post 146; and other events. The Riverside Fire Company No. 1 is always interested in people who have an interest in serving as Active Firefighters, Fire Police Officers, and Junior Firefighters and are considering membership in this fine organization. On May 25, 2026 at approximately 8pm, the Riverside Fire Company No. 1, along with several mutual aid fire companies, were dispatched to Scott Street for a reported structure fire

While en route to the call units were notified of victims reported to be trapped within the structure. Engine 7011 from the Riverside Fire Company arrived first due and were met with smoke and fire in the rear of the building. Engine 7011 crew immediately began search and rescue efforts as well as initial suppression efforts. Upon Engine 7011’s arrival 2 rescues were immediately performed from the second floor windows utilizing ground ladders. Shortly after, multiple additional units from Riverside Fire Company and all other mutual aid companies arrived on scene and assisted with fire suppression, rescue, ventilation.

Multiple residents were rescued from the structure throughout this incident. Fortunately all residents were able to be rescued from the structure with no injuries reported and the fire was quickly brought under control.

Due to the quick actions and coordinated efforts of all responding personnel, further damage and no injuries were reported.

We would like to thank all mutual aid fire companies for their assistance, professionalism, and teamwork during this incident.

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us all take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day and remember those who gave everything in service to our nation.

From all of us at Riverside Fire Company No. 1, we thank our fallen heroes, our veterans, and all who continue to serve.

Thank you again to everyone who entered our Spring Striped Bass Derby! It was a great month of fishing, and we hope you all had as much fun participating as we did following along and seeing the photos of all the fish caught.

Last night, April 17, 2026, at approximately 10:15 PM, Riverside Fire Company was dispatched to a building on East Scott Street for a fire alarm activation in a mixed-use occupancy, consisting of a restaurant on the ground floor with apartments above.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy smoke conditions inside the restaurant. The incident was upgraded to a building fire response. Crews quickly located a fire in the rear kitchen area and were able to bring it under control promptly, with little to no extension of fire damage beyond the area of origin.

Today, monday March 30th between the hours of 6:45pm and 830pm there will be a joint training exercise on the Riverside - Delanco bridge.

Traffic will be limited to one lane of travel, alternating in direction during this period. Please use caution in the area!

Riverside Fire Company No. 1 assisted Beverly Fire Company and other units on this house fire in Edgewater Park this afternoon.

Earlier this afternoon after returning from a brush fire in Delanco. Companies were Dispatched to the 1000 block of Mt Holly Rd for a reported structure fire with possible victims trapped.

Chief 1200 arrived on scene and confirmed reports of heavy fire from the alpha side of the structure. Engines 1222, 1112(Delanco), 1612(Willingboro), and Ladder 7015(Riverside) arrived and went to work within seconds of each other.

Due to the amount of fire and structural conditions inside, crews were evacuated from the structure. Additional units were brought in as well as some special calls to assist with man power and apparatus needs.

There a currently no reported injuries! Once the fire was extinguished crews stood by on scene until a demolition crew arrived to open up and take down the remaining structure.

Some may be missed. But we would like to Thank any and all mutual aid partners who assisted on and off scene.
