A Summer of Celebrations! ⚽❤️
I’m incredibly proud to have been part of the KC2026 Events & Activations Network Committee since 2025, working alongside passionate leaders from across the metropolitan area to help create a truly regional World Cup experience.
When the Netherlands team officially announced that the KC Current Headquarters and practice facility in Riverside would serve as their base camp. the possibilities for our community felt endless.
What followed was an incredible collaboration between the Riverside Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Riverside, GoNorthKC, and the World Cup KC2026 team — all working together to turn an exciting opportunity into something truly meaningful for our community.
Our local businesses supported the efforts of the Chamber and the City of Riverside and brought the energy throughout the celebration. Here's how we did it!
⚽ Alpha Print Wear designed orange T-shirts that were worn proudly by our local businesses, alongside custom supporter banners displayed all across town. The mayor presented the team with a photo album of all the businesses in their Oranje shirts!
🧡 We literally painted the town orange—complete with custom soccer ball crosswalks!
🎉 Chamber members and local businesses marched with high energy in the Netherlands parade.
And then came the capstone: July 3rd at the brand-new Morton Amphitheater. 🇺🇸🎨⚽️
We brought together:
• Riverside’s 75th Anniversary
• America’s 250th Anniversary
• The 3rd Annual ArtWalk Riverside, presented by ArtGardenKC
• And the screening of two World Cup matches
The result? 5,000 people gathered together on one of the hottest days of the year to celebrate our city, our region, our country, and the global game.
But the number that matters most isn’t 5,000. It’s the countless memories created that day — and the momentum we’re building for businesses in Riverside and the Northland .
This is what happens when communities, organizations, businesses, and passionate people come together with a shared vision.
We didn’t just prepare for the World Cup. We created a regional experience — and an impact that will last far beyond the final whistle.
It was an honor for me to be a part of it. I was incredibly proud of our Riverside Chamber involvement, and I am excited for what comes next.
