Riverside County’s Community Development Block Grant program helps power nonprofit organizations that uplift, support, and strengthen our communities every day. Food Now in Desert Hot Springs is one of those vital partners, a true lifeline for families across the Western Coachella Valley. The hunger relief program serves roughly 600–700 clients each week and distributes nearly a million pounds of food annually. Thanks to dedicated volunteers and essential CDBG support from Riverside County, Food Now continues to bridge the gap for residents experiencing financial or medical hardship.

🚨 Riverside County Employers: Final Opportunity! 🚨

The Employer Connect Program ends at the end of this month, and funding is extremely limited. We are now accepting businesses on our waitlist for the last remaining dollars.

Through this initiative, employers may receive 100% wage reimbursement up to $20/hour for the first 480 hours—a total of up to $9,600 for hiring and training a new employee. Eligible employers must have hired a new employee on or after January 1, 2025.

Participants also receive a two‑hour virtual training for their new hire, focused on Riverside County’s homelessness services and referral resources—equipping staff to respond confidently and compassionately to homelessness‑related concerns.

Please note: Businesses may only participate once, and repeat participation is not permitted.

There is no better feeling than helping clients stabilize and begin a path toward long‑term success. Walking alongside individuals as they share the traumatic experiences that led to their homelessness, while providing ongoing support through their journey. Together, our Office of Homeless Services and our dedicated partners navigate each step, overcome challenges, and help people rebuild the foundation they need to become self‑sufficient and thrive.

The San Jacinto River Bottom outreach team has served 530 individuals and successfully housed 316 individuals, while providing street outreach services and comprehensive wrap‑around care throughout the Hemet and San Jacinto region. Through this work, clients receive housing assistance, consistent street outreach, mental health and substance‑use support, and workforce connection programs designed to promote long‑term stability.

Our Street Outreach Teams meet people where they are, building trust through in‑person engagement and opening pathways to critical services. Housing and shelter programs offer safe spaces for those ready to transition off the streets, while comprehensive care including behavioral health support, substance‑use counseling, and employment programs made possible through strong partnerships.

This work would not be possible without our incredible partners who stand with us every day to ensure help reaches those who need it most. Riverside County’s Youth Opportunity Centers support young people ages 16–24 with paid work experience, educational support, job search assistance, resume and interview prep, tutoring, volunteer opportunities, and more, all part of Riverside County Workforce Development’s mission to empower our future leaders.
