As students across our county head back to the classroom, we want to wish all of our students, teachers, school staff, and families a safe and successful school year!

With school back in session, please remember:

🚸 Slow down in school zones and watch for changing speed limits.
🚌 Stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and stop signs are extended.
👀 Be alert for children walking or biking to and from school.
🚗 Give yourself extra time during the morning and afternoon commute.

Red Flag Warnings have been reissued for much of the forecast area. Hot temperatures will combine with low RHs and gusty winds this afternoon. Virga showers/dry t-storms will also be possible over the southern half of the forecast area. Gusts up to 55 mph possible from these storms.

🚨 FIRE ALERT – JOHNNIE LEES CORNER AREA 🚨

Fire crews are responding to a reported fire in the Johnnie Lees Corner area.

Please use caution, avoid the area if possible, and give responding apparatus and personnel plenty of room to work.

🚒 Congratulations on Your Retirement, Firefighter Joe Irvin! 🚒

After 16 years of dedicated service with the Fremont County Fire Protection District,- Central Fire Battalion-1 Firefighter Joe Irvin is retiring from the fire service.

Throughout his career, Joe proudly served the citizens of Fremont County with professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. His dedication to the fire service and the countless hours he devoted to protecting our community have left a lasting impact on the department and those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

On behalf of the members of Fremont County Fire Protection District – Central Fire Battalion-1, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your years of service, sacrifice, and dedication. We are grateful for everything you have done for our department and our community.

We wish you and your family nothing but the very best as you begin this well-deserved retirement and your next adventures.
