The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for much of central and north central Wyoming. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

🔥 What to Expect:
• Southwest winds: 25–40 mph, gusts up to 55–60 mph
• Very low humidity: 10–13%
• Dry fuels and extreme fire behavior potential

📍 Affected Areas:
• Fremont & Natrona Counties
• Big Horn, Hot Springs, Johnson, Park, Washakie Counties
• Portions of Sweetwater County

⚠️ Impacts:
These conditions can cause rapid fire growth and erratic behavior. Any fire that starts may quickly become difficult to control.

🚫 Safety Reminders:
• Avoid all outdoor burning
• Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
• Do not park on dry grass
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately

📞 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 📞

This week, we recognize the dedicated men and women behind the scenes who serve as the first first responders — our public safety telecommunicators.

Every call for help begins with a calm voice on the other end of the line. These professionals work tirelessly to gather critical information, provide life-saving instructions, and ensure responders get where they need to go—quickly and safely.

From dispatching firefighters and EMS and law enforcement to coordinating multi-agency responses, their role is vital to every emergency we respond to.

Central Fire would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all dispatchers and telecommunicators for their professionalism, commitment, and unwavering service to our communities.
