๐Ÿšจ RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT ๐Ÿšจ
9:00 AM โ€“ 8:00 PM MDT Today

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for much of central and north central Wyoming. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

๐Ÿ”ฅ What to Expect:
โ€ข Southwest winds: 25โ€“40 mph, gusts up to 55โ€“60 mph
โ€ข Very low humidity: 10โ€“13%
โ€ข Dry fuels and extreme fire behavior potential

๐Ÿ“ Affected Areas:
โ€ข Fremont & Natrona Counties
โ€ข Big Horn, Hot Springs, Johnson, Park, Washakie Counties
โ€ข Portions of Sweetwater County

โš ๏ธ Impacts:
These conditions can cause rapid fire growth and erratic behavior. Any fire that starts may quickly become difficult to control.

๐Ÿšซ Safety Reminders:
โ€ข Avoid all outdoor burning
โ€ข Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
โ€ข Do not park on dry grass
โ€ข Properly dispose of ci******es
โ€ข Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately

A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are occurring or imminent. Help prevent wildfires and keep our communities safe.

๐Ÿ“ž National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week ๐Ÿ“ž

This week, we recognize the dedicated men and women behind the scenes who serve as the first first responders โ€” our public safety telecommunicators.

Every call for help begins with a calm voice on the other end of the line. These professionals work tirelessly to gather critical information, provide life-saving instructions, and ensure responders get where they need to goโ€”quickly and safely.

From dispatching firefighters and EMS and law enforcement to coordinating multi-agency responses, their role is vital to every emergency we respond to.

Central Fire would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all dispatchers and telecommunicators for their professionalism, commitment, and unwavering service to our communities.

Thank you for everything you doโ€”often without recognition, but never without impact.
