We want to thank everyone who came out for National Night Out 2026! The turn out was arguably the best that we have had yet!

As the 2026 Fremont County Fair winds down this weekend we were again honored to participate and support our county in the only ways that we know.

It all started a week ago on Friday night at the Hog Wrestling. After a brief absence we again fielded a team and they gave it their best to put that slippery pig in the barrel, but unfortunately there was a small mishap with the barrel and the pig won the round. The next day included our traditional appearance in the Fair Parade. Then we were off to the races to provide standby for the 6 cylinder figure 8 races.

We also provided stand by for the Monster Truck and Lawn Mower races. And then finished up our week with the craziness of the 4 cylinder figure 8 races, where we were busy, literally, running from roll over to roll over. Fortunately there were only a couple of minor injuries. There may have been bad YMCA dancing somewhere in there too...

Fair week is always an extremely busy week for us, but we are proud to be part of a great tradition!

The only downside is that we were so busy with activities that we didn't get very many pictures this week...if you have any pictures please feel free to share them!

2026 4th of July standby. We want to publicly thank Captain Scherf for smoking some awesome ribs and manning the grill yesterday. Some RPD Officers and FCSO Deputies (somehow not pictured) were able to stop in between calls and enjoy a quick break and bite to eat as well.

We had 5 calls for service yesterday, all of which were relatively minor in nature. We want to thank the citizens of the Riverton Fire District for celebrating America's 250th responsibly.

As of this morning we have answered 204 calls this year compared to 178 last year. Our call volume is up and with the drought conditions we do not anticipate slowing down any time soon.
