Thursday 7PM Update: Showers and thunderstorms will continue to move across the state this evening. The main concerns will be strong outflow winds up to 50 mph, frequent lightning, small hail, and brief periods of heavy rain. Showers may linger into Friday morning across portions of the state.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop across the higher terrain and move east into the lower elevations beginning around 1PM. Any given location has a 20% to 50% chance of seeing a shower or thunderstorm. Thunderstorms could produce gusty 35 to 45 mph winds, with isolated gusts up to 60 mph possible.

More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday through the weekend.

An influx of Pacific moisture will help fuel daily chances for showers and thunderstorms over the next few days. Temperatures will be on the seasonably warm side to end the work week with cooler temperatures by the weekend. There even is a chance for the first freeze across the lower elevations of western WY Sunday night into Monday morning.
