This Memorial Day, the Soldiers of the 65th Field Artillery Brigade pause to remember those who gave their lives in service to our Nation.
Today, we especially honor 2LT Scott B. Lundell, a Utah Army National Guard Soldier assigned to I Corps Artillery, whose legacy remains deeply connected to the lineage of America’s Thunder.
On November 25, 2006, 2LT Lundell was killed in action in Afghanistan while serving alongside and mentoring Afghan National Army forces. He led with courage, selfless service, and an unwavering commitment to his Soldiers and mission.
His sacrifice reminds us that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a solemn reminder that freedom has been paid for by men and women willing to stand in harm’s way for others.
As we gather with family and friends this weekend, we remember Lieutenant Lundell, his family, and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this Nation.
We will remember them.
We will honor them.
And we will continue to live worthy of their sacrifice.
