The Philadelphia Cycling Classic is on! We are so proud of our own Carlos Rogers for this historic race being back on in Philadelphia. Watch it live at 6ABC, throw a watch party like so many of us are, or enjoy it from those beautiful Philly neighborhoods. And remember, each June kicks off the summer with our own Historic Riverton Criterium cycling course in our own backyard. Stay safe and happy racing day!

Did you Know?
The original template for the PTA was created at The Porch Club on Howard Street in Riverton!
A group of mothers from Riverton went to Washington DC for suffragette rights and the goal of creating a free public kindergarten in Riverton in 1896.
Two years later the first woman was elected to the School Board.
In 1900 they sent invitations throughout the State for a gathering in Riverton for the purpose of forming a State Mother’s Circle.
In October of that year a successful meeting was held and the circle was formed and later became known as the N.J. State Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) which continues as a national organization to this day.

The Borough of Riverton recently took part in a Route 130 Corridor Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (CCRHVA). This project was coordinated by Burlington County and funded by a grant from the NJDEP through their Resilient NJ Program. As the County explains, "a CCRHVA is a planning document that focuses on hazards such as sea level rise, heat, and other climate-related hazards impacting our community. New Jersey requires each municipality to incorporate a CCRHVA into any new land use plan element of the municipal master plan. Developing a CCRHVA will lay the groundwork to meet the requirements of the State’s Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL)." Thank you to everyone who provided input on this document! If you want to get more involved with environmental or planning issues in Riverton, please attend the next Environmental Commission and Green Team Meeting or a Planning Board Meeting.
Learn more on our website under "Meetings Information."
You can read the Riverton portion of the CCRHVA on our website . In addition, the full report is linked on the Burlington County website [https://www.burlingtoncountynj.gov/2119/Climate-Change-Assessment -f4e4a2099ae82d2efa34700956d9c23b].
