Gusty winds return Wednesday and Thursday afternoons seeing up to 40 to 50 mph at times, especially across the wind corridor from South Pass through Jeffrey City to Casper, and points north.

After a chilly start, high temperatures will be close to seasonal averages across the area. Most of the area will be dry today. However, showers will develop in southern Wyoming late today and move northward at night.

A weather system will push through the area Sunday, which will bring more showers and storms. There is potential for flash flooding, mainly across southern Sweetwater County where multiple rounds of showers and storms are possible.

Moist Southwesterly flow will continue to bring in plentiful moisture today. This will bring in more showers and thunderstorms today into tonight. Some storms may produce damaging wind, large hail, and torrential rain.

Highway striping crew member Jesse Preator and his fellow workers, all of Basin, were working east of Cody Wednesday when they encountered a sow black bear and her cub near Eagle Pass. A special sighting in the sagebrush!
