Nearly all of the restaurants are local, independent, or family owned and operated. For several months, these 8 independent, small-business restaurants have been quietly meeting to launch Restaurant Week — a creative way to build community, get to know your local chefs, and support family-owned restaurants.

In a time of tremendous competition and corporatization in the restaurant and hospitality industry, Winthrop Restaurant Week is the opposite — a celebration of neighborhood restaurants coming together to support one another, and a chance for customers to dine local.

We’re happy to share that Longshots Sports Bar is opening this Friday, August 28th!

The team behind the much-loved The Soho Backyard in Tampa is bringing their passion for community, amazing food, and hospitality to Winthrop.

Starting Friday, they’ll be open daily from 11am-1am. Come by to say hello and welcome them to the community! Doors open Friday at 11am.

Winthrop was founded in 2000 by local residents John and Kay Sullivan who had a simple dream for their family: to raise their children in a community where neighbors actually know each other—a real place, designed for connection.

For more than two decades, Winthrop has grown from that vision. Today, that family lives in the community they imagined, and they continue to shape Winthrop block by block.

Winthrop exists because so many people have been part of our story.
