The callers are demanding payment over the phone and claiming it is required for things like release, reduced charges, or to avoid additional legal trouble. Take a moment, verify the information directly with our agency, and protect yourself.

Riverview Bail Bonds wants to alert our clients and community about several scams currently happening in Hillsborough County, both before and after a defendant’s release from jail.
🔸 Before release:
Be aware — no one from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office or any other law enforcement agency will ever call you to request payment for a defendant’s release.
If you need to bail someone out, only contact a licensed bail bondsman or go directly to the Orient Road Jail.
Anyone calling you directly asking for money is attempting to scam you.
🔸 After release:
Once a person is released from jail, no one has the authority to call demanding additional payment or threatening that the individual will be sent back to jail.
These are scams designed to scare you into sending money. If you pay, the money will be gone — and no legitimate action will occur.

If you receive suspicious calls or messages about a defendant currently in or recently released from the Hillsborough County Jail, please don’t hesitate to contact us for guidance at Riverview Bail Bonds (813) 677-9422.
