I (Jennifer) am blessed that I work in a joy that gives me joy in some way every day! How does the Roachdale Public Library bring you joy???? This week, my joy has been seeing progress on the renovation - more than anything, we just want EVERYONE to be able to access our building and resources! (Where the workers are standing in the photo is the elevator shaft!!!!!!!) We are looking forward to having more programs for all ages this winter once everyone will be able to enter through our new main entrance - at street level!

Save the date for the Roachdale Friends of the Library Summer Fundraiser! Tickets go on sale May 1st - just in time for Mother's Day!!!! I'll post more details at the end of April and the link to purchase (or buy at the library) will go live May 1st.

It's getting close to Summer Reading & we still need sponsors! Why do we need to fundraise EVERY year for Summer Reading? As a 1-township library, our total program budget for 2026 is only $600 - Summer Reading is run SOLEY by donations. This year, we will be hosting Lunch Bunch along with Summer Reading at the Roachdale Park (Thursdays 10:30am-noon from June 4-July 9). The annual cost of Summer Reading with the meals is approximately $3,000. So far, we've received $100 towards Summer Reading this year. We do understand money is tight for everyone. Every little bit adds up and is appreciated! Businesses and individuals who donate $200 or more (the approximate cost of weekly meals) are listed as a weekly sponsor. All sponsors are promoted in our for flyers and postings. Be sure to keep an eye out here for more details on Summer Reading as we get closer to May. Registrations will be distributed beginning the last week of April to Roachdale Elementary School and Bainbridge Elementary. The QR code takes you directly to our Square site.

Lunch & Learn: Fall Risks — Dos and Don’ts for Staying on Your Feet

We invite our active older adults to join us on Wednesday, April 22 from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM for this month’s Lunch & Learn. Our topic will focus on fall risks—the essential dos and don’ts of staying steady, confident, and safe in your daily routine.

This session will highlight practical tips, common hazards to watch for, and simple ways to reduce your risk of falling. Lunch is provided, and all are welcome to attend.
