‼️‼️Building update‼️‼️

With all the tragic events that has happened these past few days we have been relaxed on providing updates on our new station build! We apologize for that and hope this will spark a little good back in the eyes of our community!

Recent updates include:
- Windows being installed
- Metal siding being installed
- Plumbing rough-in
- Concrete pad poured
- Framing started of interior walls and the exterior covered porch

Roadway is still closed, we will update this post as soon as traffic begins to move!

‼️‼️‼️ AVOID THE AREA OF HWY 19E and SIMERLY CREEK ROAD, roadway will be shut down for an unknown amount of time! ‼️‼️‼️

Approximately 12:55am, our department was dispatched to assist Banner Elk Fire and Rescue and other Avery County NC Fire Departments on a multi- family dwelling. As of 3:40am all RMVFD units have returned back in service. Tanker 1, Brush 805, and 5 personnel responded to assist.

‼️‼️ As of 7:18pm ROADWAY IS REOPENED!!!

Highway patrol is conducting measurements from the recent motor vehicle accident. Highway will be shut down until this is completed please have patience and the roadway will open back up within the next hour.

Also, Old Railroad Grade Road IS NOT THE BEST OPTION TO AVOID STAND STILL TRAFFIC as this maneuver cause a secondary incident. We attempted to have all routes of the Railroad Grade blocked but sometimes that is not in place quick enough when the primary incident is critical. Please spread the word and help us avoid this in the future!!
