The Blue Ridge Soil & Water Conservation District Farm Tour today was a beautiful day of learning and connecting! From the Catawba Sustainability Center to Western Virginia Water Authority at Carvins Cove Water Treatment Plant to Local Environmental Agriculture Project - LEAP to Mill Mountain Wildflower Garden to Blue Cow Ice Cream Co. 🐄 🍦

Southwest Virginia Bee Festival 🐝 with Roanoke Valley Beekeepers Association today!

Lots of bees were made by some of the greatest kids in the Roanoke Valley.

They helped to “pollinate” the native purple coneflower.

We were impressed by the bee knowledge of our visitors 🌺 The “Bee Smart” passport program was a hit! Lots of winners!

Many cute dogs 🐕 came by our tent including Boba, the shadow cream dachshund and the very best chocolate lab!

Mr. G-Bee 🐝 Glenvar G-Bees let us pose for a pic and Jamie got to enjoy her first SWVA Bee Festival!

A visit by Mayor Joe Cobb City of Roanoke, Virginia - Government⭐️ and our very own board member James Breakell with Titan America made the day complete. We even had a chance to hang out next to our friends Laura and River with Bee City USA 🐝.

Thanks to the thousands of people who made this day even more fun!🤩

📺 Electronics and Glass Recycling was a success yesterday! ⚡️ 🫙

Glass has totaled 1,500 pounds for all of our events and all of it has been kept in the recycling loop and out of the landfill.

Lots of flat screen TVs! Over the course of this 6 event series the amount tripled from the first collection day in December of 2025 to August of 2026! We will share the totals as we receive them-you will be amazed.

😊 Thanks to our awesome partners with ’s Trade Recycling and Corner!

Stay tuned for more recycling opportunities as we look for spacious locations to create a drive by drop-off system.
