The State Board of Education (SBOE) needs to hear from you. They are currently considering two very important issues. First is the revision of the Standards K-12 for our children’s Social Studies curriculum. The second is a required reading list K-12. Please take time to consider your response prior to the June 22 SBOE meeting.

Northwest ISD has called an operations funding election to provide voters with the opportunity to decrease class sizes in exchange for a 3-cent increase in the tax rate. Because of tax rate compression, however, voter approval of the measure, listed as Proposition A on the ballot, would still result in a tax rate decrease from 2024. Learn more: bit.ly/4lqs5xi
