Yesterday, firefighters from Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department and Hollins Station 5 met with reporter Laila Mitchell to discuss the heat stress experienced while wearing fire gear in high temperatures.

As this week averages in the late 80°s-90°s, be sure to stay cool!

Stay hydrated, save strenuous outside work for the morning, and stop outdoor activities and move to a cooler area if you start to experience symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, extreme fatigue, headache, or muscle cramps.
