Today we had 1 firefighter graduate from Basic Operations Firefighter class hosted by the Illinois Fire Service Institut...

Today we had 1 firefighter graduate from Basic Operations Firefighter class hosted by the Illinois Fire Service Institute. This class was blended between online classroom and in person hands on training. This individual put in over 350 hours of class time for this class, on top of still coming to district events, going to work, and balancing family time as well. While he has graduated from class, his journey isn’t quite finished for complete certification. He has a 40 hour Hazmat Ops class he will be going through.
Once this is completed he will have a Basic Ops Firefighter and Advanced Technician Firefighter certification through the Illinois State Fire Marshal office. Congratulations and thank you, Captain D. Ott for dedicating so much time to this class over the past 18 weeks.
