As much as I appreciate Sen. Sanders enthusiasm and willingness to run however . Here is my personal endorsement of and why in the Roanoke Times. I hope when it is all said and done both campaigns will unite because we are all in this together to keep and fight for the Affordable Care Act, Equal Pay for Equal Work and breaking down barriers. Please vote March 1 in the Commonwealth!

A reminder please like Step Up Virginia and follis us on Twitter . This page will become inactive soon.

As I've traveled the Roanoke Valley and the entire Commonwealth, I've met amazing families from all walks of life. One family's story stayed with me, and it represents the challenges facing countless others in the region.

After a lot of thought and prayer I have decided on a candidate to support for President. I wanted our supporters to be the first to know and hear it directly from me.

Both candidates are a better choice then what is happening on the other side. Hence, once the democratic primary is over my hope is that ALL Democrats unite and remember the issues like the Affordable Care Act that we have fought so hard for needs to stay! The only way that happens is to elect a Democratic President.

I respect and admire Senators Sander's enthusiasm that he has brought to the race. However, I have decided that Hillary Clinton is the best candidate for President. I have reviewed her policies and stances on workforce development, business issues like the $1,500 tax credit for businesses who hire full time apprentices, and making college more affordable. I have also written an op ed to publications in support of Hillary and I ask that you support her as well.

Please note that I have valued the relationships that we have built thus far and look forward to continuing building with you. Again, I wanted you to hear it from me first. And lets not forget our main objective!!

Morning everyone, The Roanoke Times reported their article based off the information sent to VPAP which is correct. However, I wanted to let our supporters and others know that we will not have a surplus in our campaign account. We still have to pay payroll taxes and waiting on several invoices that will deplete our account. I want to continue to be transparent with the campaign. There will be no money from the Hamlar For Senate campaign to invest in any PAC or carryover. I just wanted to let you know we spent every resource on winning the election and your help during the campaign volunteering, financially and spiritually was greatly appreciated. Again, thank you.

I am proud of the race that we ran. We fought a hard battle, and made a statement. Thanks to you, we were able to run a top notch campaign.

I value the relationships and friendships that I have made on the campaign trail. Looking forward, I remain dedicated to improving the lives of those around me. Southwest Virginia is my home. Through my efforts, our community will be a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

I am humbled by the support that I have received from across the district, the Commonwealth, and the nation. Thank you for believing in me and my vision for Southwest Virginia.
