Join us at Melrose Library on May 27 for Dinner and a Movie featuring a special guest appearance by former University of Virginia football player Perris Jones. Meet him during a free public meet-and-greet at 4 p.m., enjoy dinner served by participants in the City’s Teen Apprenticeship Program at 5 p.m., and stay for a screening of Madagascar.

After overcoming a career-ending spinal cord injury, Jones now shares his story of resilience and perseverance with audiences across the country. He is in Roanoke to provide encouragement and inspiration to local youth and will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Teen Apprenticeship Program graduation. Roanoke’s Teen Apprenticeship Program opens the door to local government operations for teens seeking professional growth and development.

The Dinner and Movie event with Perris Jones celebrates the power of overcoming adversity and building pathways to success for Roanoke’s youth.
