If you have an inquisitive 3‑ or 4‑year‑old, a big world map on the playroom wall is a wonderful addition. Kids love seeing where they live, where family travels, and just how big the world really is.

In our summer music class, we’ve been showing the children that Johann Strauss lived in Austria. We compare where they live to where he lived and ask how we might cross the Atlantic Ocean to visit him. Their answers—boat, helicopter, swim, jetski—are always adorable, and we love watching their imaginations grow.

We also take a moment to explain that Austria and Australia are two very different places.
Austria is in Europe and is where Johann Strauss lived.
Australia is the home of kangaroos… and Bluey :)
