Ultimately 53 people lost their job with RCPS thanks to a $14m deficit created by City of Roanoke, Virginia - Government

We maintain the city has the money to fully fund our schools, they are just choosing to spend it elsewhere, and we will continue to prove it.

It started the academic year with 127 vacancies as well.

There was a challenge. And then there was a choice. Faced with struggling city finances, a choice was made for an office renovation that could’ve been set aside for more pressing city funding needs.
Now we need the city to choose to step up for our schools.

We can be a small part of carrying on Dolly's legacy by sponsoring a year’s worth of books ($20) for children through the Imagination Library of Roanoke City.
This fundraiser is hosted by Junior League of Roanoke Valley, but 100% of the proceeds from any shirt sales and the donations go straight to our local Imagination Library.
