📢 Community Outreach Event for Our Unhoused Neighbors

The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office invites individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity to attend our upcoming Community Outreach Event.

This event is designed to provide personal care items, food, support, and an opportunity for members of our community to come together in a welcoming environment.

🤝 Need Assistance?
If you or someone you know could benefit from available services and support, we encourage you to attend or share this information with others. No registration is required.

❤️ Want to Help?
We are also seeking support from community members, businesses, faith-based organizations, and service groups who would like to contribute to this effort. Donations of personal hygiene items are greatly appreciated and will be distributed directly to those in need.

Requested items include:
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste
• Deodorant
• Soap and body wash
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Razors and shaving cream
• Feminine hygiene products
• Wipes
• Socks
• Combs and brushes
• Lip balm
• Hand sanitizer

Thank You to Our Torch Run Partners!

Today, the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office proudly joined our partners, the Roanoke Police Department - VA for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia.

We extend our sincere thanks to each runner, supporter, community member, FireEMS Department, and Valley Metro - Roanoke who helped make today’s run meaningful. Your participation represents more than miles traveled; it reflects a shared commitment to inclusion, encouragement, and opportunity for Special Olympics Virginia athletes.

The Torch Run carries the “Flame of Hope” across the Commonwealth to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Virginia athletes, helping support programs that promote confidence, teamwork, health, and belonging.

To our partners: thank you for running beside us, supporting the mission, and helping show what it means when public safety and community come together for a greater purpose.
