Attention: Fontana Lake Floating Cabin Owners

Floating cabins must comply with the rules contained in TVA’s Section 26a Regulations at https://www.tva.com/26aregulations.
In accordance with §1304.101(c), all floating cabins shall comply with the rules and make application for a Section 26a permit by October 1, 2029. TVA may, at its sole discretion, deny an initial application for a floating cabin submitted after this date. Unpermitted structures are subject to removal.
New floating cabins are prohibited. No modifications to a floating cabin or attached structures can be made without prior written approval from TVA.
Any deviations from the approved plans will require physical corrections to the structure(s) and/or a request to approve the violations through another Section 26a permit.
The registration process is to connect an owner to a structure in TVA’s floating cabins inventory. Registration is not a Section 26a permit approval of the floating cabin.

Please see below for information concerning the recently installed cameras. As noted, the cameras serve as a tool for local law enforcement and no other department/person within county government has access. The cameras were obtained by and are operated by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office. Please reach out to the Sheriff’s Office for any additional information.

The camera systems currently installed in Graham County was not purchased under Sheriff Moody’s administration. These cameras were installed as part of a countywide initiative and serve as a valuable law enforcement tool.

Their primary purpose is to assist investigators in locating wanted individuals, identifying vehicles associated with criminal activity, helping solve crimes, and supporting efforts to address issues such as vandalism and illegal activity occurring in public areas. The cameras can also provide valuable information when investigating complaints involving street-level criminal activity.

These cameras are not used to spy on law-abiding citizens or monitor the daily activities of residents. Rather, they are a tool that helps law enforcement protect the community, deter criminal behavior, and enhance public safety while respecting the rights and privacy of our citizens.
