Robersonville Fire Department

Williamston Fire-Rescue will host its annual 9/11 Memorial Service beginning at 08:30 AM on Friday, September 11th. The service will take place around the flagpole in front of the firehouse. We invite all who wish to attend.

Also, members of our department and other public safety members will walk from Williamston Police Department ending at Williamston Fire Department Friday morning prior to the 8:30 service. This distance is similar to the height of steps up one of the World Trade Center towers. The group will leave Williamston Police Department at 07:30. All public safety and members of the community are welcome and encouraged to walk as we honor all the lives lost on 9/11.

Tonight during our training meeting, our members completed the Fire Scene Setup Practical. This practical is an important part of our department’s fire rating requirements and must be successfully completed in preparation for our upcoming inspection.

Special thank you to La Casetta Italian Restaurant Robersonville for providing our meal prior to tonight’s training.

Video from last night’s training showing a VES evolution. The firefighter enters through the window, closes the bedroom door to control heat and smoke, searches the room, and radios when a victim is located before beginning removal.

In this scenario, the victim was a downed firefighter.

Last night, our department had the opportunity to train in an acquired structure that our department will be conducting a live burn in next month.

We trained on forcible entry, search, victim removal and VES (vent enter search)

Training in a real structure gives our firefighters an opportunity to practice these skills in an environment that is difficult to replicate at the station.

Over the last few days, we’ve had the opportunity to participate in a couple of community service events. On Saturday, our department took part in a Mental Health & Wellness Fair, connecting with community members and supporting the importance of mental health awareness. Today, we are proud to help host a community blood drive, helping ensure this lifesaving resource is available for those who need it most.

This week, our department has had the opportunity to train alongside Bethel Fire and Rescue as members complete Rescue Ops 1 training, including vehicle extrication skills. We are grateful for the invitation and proud to work alongside such dedicated firefighters. Strong partnerships and training opportunities like this help strengthen our ability to serve our communities. We greatly appreciate the working relationship we share with Bethel and the other Pitt County departments, and look forward to continuing to train and respond together.
