Today, the Eastern Shore MPO had the privilege of recognizing Alabama Department of Transportation Director John R. Cooper with a resolution honoring his distinguished service, leadership, and lasting contributions to our region.

Since 2011, Director Cooper has provided steady leadership at ALDOT, bringing a strong commitment to responsible investment, innovation, and collaboration between state and local governments. His leadership has helped advance transportation infrastructure, improve mobility and safety, and support the continued growth of communities across the Eastern Shore and Baldwin County.

We are grateful for his partnership with the Eastern Shore MPO and for the many ways his leadership has helped move our region’s transportation priorities forward.

Thank you, Director Cooper, for your years of service, dedication, and commitment to Alabama!

The UPWP serves as the MPO's annual work program and budget, outlining the transportation planning activities that will be undertaken during the upcoming fiscal year.

Hey Baldwin County, we need your input! The Eastern Shore MPO, in collaboration with the Baldwin County Commission and the cities of Loxley and Spanish Fort, is developing a comprehensive plan to improve safety for all —including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers. This Safety Action Plan will focus on roadway safety challenges, identifying projects and policy changes that will address these issues. This effort is funded by a “Safe Streets and Roads for All” grant recently awarded to the County. Check out https://baldwinsafestreets.org and fill out the survey!
