City of Robinson Street Superintendent
The City of Robinson is seeking a qualified, motivated, and accountable individual to serve as Street Department Superintendent. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing all Street Department operations, including public infrastructure maintenance, right-of-way administration, employee supervision, safety compliance, emergency response, budgeting, and long-term planning.
The job requires knowledge of maintenance of city infrastructure, including but not limited to street and sidewalk repair and storm and sanitary sewer systems. Applicant must have knowledge of OSHA regulations, ADA standards, excavation safety requirements, and municipal operations. The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public works, construction, utilities, street maintenance, or related field. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Applicant must have the ability to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours. The Superintendent serves as the department’s primary leader and is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and lawful operation of all Street Department activities while maintaining a high level of service to the citizens of Robinson. Must be able to communicate and present information clearly, and to handle public relations issues in an effective, courteous, and tactful manner. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public, coworkers, elected and appointed officials. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and have maintained an acceptable driving record. An Illinois Class B CDL or ability to obtain within a specified period is preferred.
This is a full-time position and will provide a minimum of 40 hours a week. Starting salary is around $70,000+ and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and is subject to approval by the City of Robinson.
