To anyone hunting in the area, if you shoot at anything or hunt within 1/4 mile of city limits, you and your rigs will be photographed and reported - to both the authorities and local landowners. Kidder County is about 1500 square miles, so to think you’re so incompetent or lazy that you need to pot-shoot or hunt birds in fields or sloughs next to a community with people and pets, isn’t only pathetic, it’s embarrassing. Get your s**t together, or pack up and go home.

Hello, Robinson folks.

By now you’ve noticed that common peer pressure is more intense than our water pressure at the moment. The reason for this is the failure of our main water pump today, and our auxiliary pump on its’ own can only manage about half our desired pressure. The pros have been notified, and this will be fixed… but not until Thursday, maybe Friday at the latest.

Sorry for any inconvenience, especially to those who go heavy on the hair conditioner.

By now, everyone should have received the pictured postcard in the mail.

This is a lead water line service survey/inventory that is being run by the City in cooperation with the ND state legislature. The state legislature has required all cities to perform this survey.

If you’ve submitted the info, our sincere thanks. If you haven’t received the postcard, or did, and tossed it, please go to ndwaterpipes.com to do it. It’s super simple, and takes just a few minutes.

If you have questions, or would like a city person to stop by to do it, please message us here, or email [email protected] and someone will be in touch.

Thanks for your help!

Hello folks. Not surprisingly, there are almost as many rumors floating around about who’s going to bid on the old Fire Dept building, and what they’re going to do with it, as there were rumors about the pig abduction by aliens that definitely happened decades ago, south of town.

Whoever ends up with the building, they should buy with all the facts regarding city ordinances… if only to avoid issues after purchase.

City ordinance requires any non-abandoned building with a water/sewer connection to pay each monthly, year-round, regardless of implemented use of the building, or number of buildings on a lot/parcel. The FD building also has RV hookups on site, so just as with another RV site in town, this will also require an additional billing if used as such, even once. Likewise, if another building is built onsite that has water/sewer, this will require its own billing, in addition. Bulk water fills and/or sales are also outlawed by city ordinance. State Building code has been adopted, and applies to propane tank setbacks, etc.

In addition, there is a parking ordinance in this area that applies to both streets, and dictates no overnight parking of commercial/farm vehicles or trailers of any kind, as well as unlicensed passenger vehicles or trailers. The FD water truck was excused from this ordinance, for obvious reasons.

Thanks!

Hi folks. We’re trying to pin down a substantial increase in water usage in our system, that’s been going on for several days now. PLEASE verify that your outdoor faucets are off and not leaking. Also, running toilets can use far more water than you’d think.

Some residents/building owners aren’t on Facebook, so if you could mention this to anyone who’s not, or even check on their property for them, please do so. Thanks for the help.

Also, a reminder that filling or selling bulk water in Robinson is strictly prohibited via city ordinance, so if you’re aware of this going on, at any time of the year, please let someone know.

Urgent!… please spread the word.

We’re trying to pin down the reason for a notable increase in water flow at our treatment plant…. Please check your homes and properties - especially unoccupied properties - for any issues.

Please contact our water operator Dustin Peterson 701-220-1341 if you notice anything or have any clues. Thanks!!

Well it’s been a thumper of a winter so far, and that thumping for cities as small as Robinson normally comes in the form of depleting our bank account due to heating and snow removal... which reminds us to thank those who’ve donated to the City, and few stick out more than the folks behind the Holiday Tree Topper group from Robinson. If you’ve purchased one for the holidays, you know how beautiful they are. But what you may not be aware of is that they’ve donated most of the proceeds to the city for winter expenses! In the past three years they’ve donated $4900, $2500, and $2100 respectively!!! Absolutely amazing. So remember to order yours early next season, they sell out fast. Thanks, Tree Toppers!

We’d like to thank the Robinson Lions Club for their generous donation of $1,000 to help covering the costs of snow removal during this long, white winter. We’re fortunate to have our Lions Club, and sometimes they don’t seem to get the recognition they deserve. Thank a Lion. Better yet, join the Lions!
