At around 1:00 a.m. today, the Roby and Rotan Volunteer Fire Departments, with assistance from the Fisher County Sheriff's Office, tackled a bar ditch fire that had spread up a small ravine on FM419 near CR444. The fire was quickly brought under control, with crews mopping up hotspots. Despite the green appearance, the dry vegetation underneath remains easily ignitable. The community is encouraged to avoid fire hazards such as dragging chains, careless disposal of ci******es, and parking vehicles in tall vegetation.
