🤠 RODEO WEEKEND SAFETY REMINDER 🤠

It’s RODEO WEEKEND! 🐴🇺🇸 We want everyone to have a great time, make memories, and most importantly — GET HOME SAFE!

🍻 IF YOU DRINK, DON’T DRIVE.
If you plan on drinking, please make arrangements for a sober driver BEFORE the festivities begin. Don’t risk your life or someone else’s.

🚨 NEED A RIDE HOME? CALL US!
If you’ve had too much to drink and need a safe ride home, call the Fisher County Sheriff’s Office at 325-776-2273. Our deputies would much rather give you a ride home than respond to a crash caused by impaired driving.

A few more rodeo weekend safety reminders:

🐴 Watch for horses, livestock, trailers, and pedestrians around the grounds. Give them plenty of room and be aware that animals can be unpredictable.

🚗 Slow down and stay alert — especially around the rodeo grounds, parking areas, and roads with increased pedestrian traffic.

📱 Put the phone down while driving. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Keep an eye on children and make sure they know where your meeting spot is in case you get separated.

🌙 If you’re walking after dark, wear something visible and use designated walkways whenever possible.

🔥 Use caution around grills and other open flames, and make sure grills are completely burned out before leaving them unattended.

💧 Texas heat is no joke! Stay hydrated, take breaks, and keep an eye on friends and family for signs of heat illness.

🤠 Most importantly, look out for one another. If you see someone who shouldn’t be driving, don’t let them get behind the wheel. Help them find a safe way home.

Have fun. Enjoy the rodeo. Make good memories. And PLEASE — DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.

🚨 Attention Fisher County Livestock Owners & Ranchers 🚨

The Fisher County Sheriff’s Office is working to improve our livestock records so we can better protect your animals and reunite them with you as quickly as possible if they are ever found loose or involved in an emergency.
We are asking all livestock owners to help us by providing the following information:

🐄 Types of livestock you own (cattle, horses, sheep, goats, etc.)
📍 The general location where they are kept
👤 Owner’s name
📞 Best contact phone number
🏠 Physical address
🔖 Any brands, ear tags, tattoos, or other identifying marks
📝 If your livestock has ear tags, please include the tag numbers or any identifying information printed on them as well as the color of the tag.

Having this information on file allows our department to quickly identify and contact owners, helping reduce the amount of time livestock are on roadways and improving the safety of both the animals and the traveling public.

⚠️ Loose livestock can create extremely dangerous situations for motorists, especially at night or during periods of low visibility. By keeping accurate records, we can respond faster and work together to prevent accidents and safely return animals' home.

⚠️Public Health Notice - Confirmed Rabies Case in Fisher County⚠️

The Fisher County Sheriff's Office would like to inform our community that one animal, in this case a skunk, in Fisher County has tested positive for rabies. At this time, this is a single confirmed case, and there is no reason for alarm, However, it serves as an important reminder to take simple precautions to protect your family and pets.

Rabies Safety Tips:
🐾Make sure your pets are current on their rabies vaccinations.
🐾Avoid approaching or handling wild animals or unfamiliar stray animals, even if they appear friendly.
🐾Do not touch animals that are acting strangely, such as appearing unusually aggressive, overly friendly, disoriented, or active during the daytime when they are normally nocturnal.
🐾Supervise pets when that are outdoors and discourage them from interacting with wildlife.
🐾If you or your pet is bitten or scratched by an unknown or wild animal, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water and seek medical attention or veterinary care immediately.

If you observe an animal behaving abnormally or believe it may have rabies, please contact Fisher County Sheriff's Office at 325-776-2273.

FLOOD ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR SOUTHERN FISHER COUNTY, AND CENTRAL NOLAN COUNTY AND IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1AM SUNDAY.

FLOODING CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED.

IMPACTS INCLUDE:

MINOR FLOODING IN LOW-LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS UP TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE AREA. THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE:

SWEETWATER, MARYNEAL, LONGWORTH, CAMP BOOTHE OAKS, GANNON, BUSBY, AND CAPITOLA.

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NOLAN AND SOUTHWESTERN FISHER COUNTIES THROUGH 11:15PM, AT 10:39PM, DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR CHAMPION, MOVING EAST AT 15MPH.

WIND GUSTS UP TO 40MPH AND PEA SIZE HAIL ARE POSSIBLE. RADAR INDICATED. GUSY WINDS COULD KNOCK DOWN TREE LIMBS AND BLOW AROUND UNSECURED OBJECTS. MINOR HAIL DAMAGE TO VEGETATION IS POSSIBLE.

It has been brought to our attention that one of our residents received a call from a man identifying himself as David Moore with Publishers Clearinghouse. The caller will tell you that you've won a substantial amount of money and all you need to do to claim it is go purchase a "registration" card for $100 from the Dollar General.

THIS IS 100% A SCAM!
