The facts are clear: Rochelle Park dispatchers are being offered positions with Bergen County, our cameras will continue to be monitored, and 201 843 1515 will remain active and answered by Rochelle Park dispatch.

At the same time, our community gains access to Next Generation 9 1 1 technology and a state of the art emergency communications system that Rochelle Park taxpayers have already been helping fund through county taxes, technology our township could never afford on its own.

This agreement strengthens public safety, modernizes emergency communications, and saves significant taxpayer dollars.

What a great night at our meet and greet. The support from residents, friends, labor, and neighboring communities was overwhelming. Thank you to everyone from Rochelle Park who came out to support our campaign to keep Rochelle Park an affordable place for working class families to live.

The energy in the room showed that people are excited to keep Rochelle Park moving forward. We’re just getting started.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In a unanimous bipartisan 5-0 vote, the Rochelle Park Township Committee approved a shared service agreement with the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center for 911 dispatch services.
The agreement is projected to save Rochelle Park taxpayers $3.3 million while maintaining local police, fire, and EMS response services. Residents will continue to be protected by the same first responders they know and trust, while the township gains upgraded emergency communications technology, expanded staffing support, backup systems, and future Next Generation 911 capabilities.
All current Rochelle Park dispatchers are guaranteed positions through the county system, staffing the Rochelle Park dispatch desk. Township camera systems will continue to be actively monitored.
Maywood recently joined more than 20 municipalities that are already served through the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center.
As emergency communications continue modernizing statewide, this partnership also positions Rochelle Park for future Next Generation 911 grant opportunities that small municipalities cannot access.
The bipartisan vote reflected a simple priority: protecting public safety while keeping Rochelle Park affordable for residents.
