Join us as we come together to honor and remember the lives lost on the 25th anniversary of September 11. Our 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will take place on Friday, September 11, at 2:30PM at Fire Headquarters. All are invited to stand united in solemn reflection and pay tribute to the courage and sacrifices of those who served that day. We will never forget.

Making Memories at MDA Summer Camp!

On August 20th, members of Hackensack Firefighters IAFF Local 2081 proudly attended the 2026 MDA Summer Camp, alongside our brothers and sisters from Newark Fire Officer's Union IAFF Local 1860 and Greenburgh Uniformed Firefighters Association - IAFF 1586.

This year was especially meaningful for us because two of the campers, Grayson and Matthew, are the nephews of Hackensack Chief Rosazza. Both boys had an incredible time celebrating Firefighter Day at camp, and it made the day even more special for all of us!

From face painting and decorating bananas before launching them across the field, to music, shaving cream battles, and water dunk challenges, the smiles never stopped!

Every one of these special moments is made possible because of YOU and your generosity through our Fill the Boot campaigns.

This year, Grayson and Matthew even got the chance to decorate our Fill the Boots, which we will proudly carry with us onto the streets as we continue fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The MDA Summer Camp is completely free for MDA families and is one of only a few MDA Summer Camps in the country, and it’s right here in our backyard!

The Hackensack Fire Department is inviting members of the public to join us for an information session about the New Jersey State Civil Service Firefighter Examination.

If you’ve ever considered a career in the fire service, now is the time to learn more. The application period for the NJ State Civil Service Firefighter Examination closes August 31st at 4:00 PM.

✝️HONORING THE LIFE OF FIREFIGHTER KENNETH “KENNY” POLLOCK✝️

💜The hearts of the New Jersey Firefighters PFANJ are incredibly heavy as we stand in solidarity with the Ocean City Firefighters Association , the Ocean City Fire Department, and the family of Firefighter Kenneth “Kenny” Po***ck, who has answered his final alarm following a valiant fight against cancer.

🥒For 19 years, Kenny, known affectionately as "Pickles" by his crew, was the absolute soul of his station. He was the man at the stove, drawing everyone to the kitchen table with either his great food or a contagious laugh that could brighten the darkest of shifts. He was also the heart of his station with the passion, grit, and determination he brought to the job. Kenny tackled his illness with the exact same mindset that defined his career.

👧Yet, beyond the uniform, the dedication to the Ocean City Fire Department, and the endless jokes, his proudest achievement and greatest love was being a devoted father to his daughter, Jordyn. Please join us in keeping Jordyn, the entire Po***ck family, and our International Association of Fire Fighters brothers and sisters of Local 4032 in your hearts as they navigate this immense loss.

IAFF Locals 2081 & 3172 were proud to partner with Orangetheory Fitness of Hackensack on Saturday, July 25, 2026, for an epic 90-minute workout to support those affected by neuromuscular disease.

Together, for the 6th straight year, we helped Fill the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The IAFF has partnered with the MDA for over 70 years!

A sincere THANK YOU to everyone who came out, challenged themselves, and supported this amazing cause. Because of your generosity, this event raised just over $1,200, helping the MDA continue its mission of funding groundbreaking research, providing life-changing care, and supporting families affected by neuromuscular disease.

A special thank you to Orangetheory Fitness of Hackensack, their outstanding coaches, staff, and members for their continued partnership and unwavering support year after year. We truly appreciate your commitment to helping the MDA and the families they serve.

🇺🇸 17th Annual Timmy Rice Softball Game 🥎

Today, members of the Hackensack Fire Department and the Hackensack Police Department continued one of our cities greatest traditions as we took the field for the 17th Annual Timmy Rice Softball Game.

We were honored to have Mayor Gaines throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the brand-new Turf Field #10, helping kick off another outstanding day of friendly competition and camaraderie.

While the firefighters came away with a 13-7 victory in seven innings, the final score is never what this day is truly about. This annual tradition represents the incredible relationship between our firefighters and police officers—a bond built on mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism. Whether we're standing side by side on emergency scenes or sharing a laugh on the softball field, we are united by our commitment to serving the City of Hackensack.

This year's game was especially meaningful as we celebrated America's 250th birthday, recognizing the freedoms we enjoy and the privilege of serving our community together. It was a fitting way to honor our nation's history while continuing a tradition that brings our public safety family and community together year after year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
Congratulations to both teams on another outstanding game—and we'll see everyone next year!
