City of Rochester Hills- Government "Innovative by nature" Welcome to Rochester Hills. No matter where you’re coming from or what brought you here, I’m confident you will enjoy your new community.

On behalf of our entire city staff and your fellow 78,000 neighbors, I want to congratulate you on a wonderful decision. Rochester Hills is truly the jewel of Oakland County. Take a drive, or better yet, a bike ride through any of our tree-lined subdivisions and you’ll see quickly that families are what make our community great. Our City is perhaps best known for its parks, trails and recreational

offerings. And once you settle in, take a swim or rent a paddle boat at Spencer Park, catch a soccer game over at Borden, enjoy exploring Michigan's largest playground at Innovation Hills, or take a walk in nature at Bloomer Park. All of these escapes are within just a few miles of your new home. And after you’ve experienced some of what our community has to offer, please feel free to stop by City Hall to let us know what you think. We are thrilled to have you here and hope that you will come to love our city just as much as we do. Art isn’t just for the experts - it’s the heart of our local community! In this episode of Right Down the Street, Mayor Barnett stops by Paint Creek Center for the Arts to chat with Executive Director Shaun Hayes. They dive deeper into the local art scene and discover how the PCCA powers the region's creativity year-round.

From finding the perfect class for beginners to celebrating 60 years of the nationally ranked Art & Apples Festival, Shaun shares why hands-on, handcrafted art matters more than ever in a screen-dominated world - identifying just how simple it is for anyone in Rochester Hills to get involved.

We are a week removed from the Brooklands Block Party and still can't stop thinking about how much fun we had! The foam party, the face painting, the tie dye station, the animals...all of it was amazing! Oh, and we cannot forget about our awesome entrepreneurs with the RHising Market. The Block Party was such a great way to close out summer!

The City of Rochester Hills has a new Director of Public Services and it's a familiar face! Please join us congratulating Tracey Balint - the City's first female DPS director - on her well-deserved promotion after more than 22 years of service to our community.

Tracey holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan. She has successfully led major capital improvement initiatives, growing the City's annual capital investment program from approximately $8 million to $20 million while securing significant state and federal grant funding. Tracey has been an outstanding leader over the course of her career and we cannot wait to see this team further excel under her guidance.

Our commitment to green spaces comes alive when our community gets to experience them firsthand!

Through the restoration of our native prairie habitats, we’re not just protecting vital pollinators and local ecosystems, we’re creating spaces where families can connect with nature. Programs like our recent "Swoop n' Scoop: Insects" bring environmental stewardship to life, giving kids a hands-on look at the thriving wildlife supported by our stewardship.

Rochester's Avon Nature Study Area is a restored prairie habitat that was once overrun by invasive species but now is teeming with native wildlife.
