Must be a residential yard located in the Clinton River watershed.

Join the River Day Fishing Derby at Municipal Park in Rochester from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on May 30. Trophies will be awarded to the participants who catch the most fish and the biggest fish! This event is hosted by the City of Rochester, Michigan - Government.

There's still time to volunteer for our Native Garden Maintenance event with Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) tomorrow, May 29. Help us remove weeds, mulch, and replanting EGLE's rain gardens while learning about native plants and rain gardens. Click here to register! https://www.crwc.org/events/native-garden.

Native mussels are important to water quality because they filter out contaminants and sediments, but they aren't studied often. This summer, CRWC is launching year one of a three-year program to document mussels throughout the watershed. Learn more about this project at: https://www.crwc.org/news-updates/mussels

In 2015 a new channel in the Clinton River began to form near Yates Dam in City of Rochester Hills- Government. Just five years later, the channel had completely redirected the river around the dam. This “bypass channel” is a major concern because the dam is a barrier for sea lamprey (an invasive species) migration. It also protects the trout fishery in Paint Creek from competition with migratory salmon.

Currently, a large collaborative team is working on a long-term solution to re-meander the river further upstream to fix the problem. Learn more at https://www.crwc.org/news-updates/yatesbyass.
