Tonight, Engine 19 Group 1 responded for the report of a bedroom on fire in the 4500 block of Lake Avenue. Engine 19 arrived on scene with smoke and flames coming from the second floor of a townhouse and declared a working fire. Within 8 minutes of being on scene with limited man power they had a primary water supply secured, a garden lay stretched and water on the seat of the fire.

The members of Engine 19 and Marine 1 send our condolences to the brothers, sisters and family of Lt. John Joseph.

Lt. Joseph was a proud and long time member of Fighting Fives on Lyell Avenue and was a true testament of what it meant to be a fireman.

All rochester crews, including engine nineteen, were at a fire last night. This is a very rare occurrence to every single RFD.Unit is at one call

Yesterday on 6/5/26 around 5pm Engine 19 and Brush 1 were dispatched for a brush fire on the Genesee Riverway Trail. Upon arrival, Brush 1 began Wildland Fire Suppression tactics and called for more resources due to the large area that was burning. Engine 10 from the Dewey and Ridgeway firehouse responded to provide manpower and more water. The fire was brought under control in about an hour.

Engine 3 from Emerson and Mt. Read was moved to Engine 19’s firehouse to maintain Fire and EMS first response capabilities to the residents of Charlotte.
