This Nurses Month, we’re proud to recognize the incredible nurses of Together in Caring across our three locations.

Each of our nurses brings a unique story, background, and passion to the work they do, but they all share one thing in common: a deep commitment to supporting older adults and their families with compassion, dignity, and respect.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Ferris Hills at West Lake & Clark Meadows for a recent dementia training focused on building confidence, compassion, and connection in care.

Together, we spent time exploring techniques, helping staff better understand the changing brain, improve communication, and create more supportive interactions for those living with dementia.

Today, Together in Caring had the pleasure of co-presenting with Touching Hearts at Home of Rochester NY at Seabury Woods!

We spent time discussing how companion care and Aging Life Care Management work together to better support older adults and their families throughout the aging journey.

While companions provide meaningful socialization, engagement, daily support, and an extra set of caring eyes and ears in the home, care managers help navigate the bigger picture, including care coordination, advocacy, healthcare communication, safety concerns, long-term planning, dementia support, and crisis prevention.

These services are not one-size-fits-all and they are not competing services, they are complementary. When companions and care managers collaborate, families often experience better communication, stronger support systems, and more proactive care overall.

Thank you to Seabury Woods for welcoming us! We always appreciate opportunities to educate, collaborate, and support our aging community together.
