🚌 School buses are back on the road! 🚌

We joined AAA Western and Central New York, local law enforcement, emergency services, and transportation leaders at Roberto Clemente School No. 8 for the annual “School’s Open, Drive Carefully” campaign.

With school starting, please slow down, put away distractions, and allow extra travel time near bus stops and school zones.

“Not stopping for a bus is more than just getting a ticket; it’s about ensuring that our most valuable community members, our children, are safe every single day,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Casandra Wright.

Yesterday during the "Welcome to the 'Roe'" back to school event, James Monroe Campus state champion football team got the ultimate surprise: their official state championship rings!

Last December, the Red Jackets finished an undefeated 12-0 season, becoming the first team in RCSD history to win a state football title.

A massive thank you to Glory to Glory Fellowship Church in Greece, Chick-fil-A Henrietta, Changing the Community, and our Monroe parents for funding the rings and making this moment possible.

The Red Jackets launch their 2026 season this Saturday, September 5, at noon at Edison Career and Technology High School. They host their home opener under newly installed lights on Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m. against McQuaid, marking the first night games in the school’s history.

Hugs, laughter, and good vibes all around for Superintendent’s Conference Day! Our teachers, staff, and administrators spent the day locked in with one shared focus: making sure our students have the best year possible.

In just one week, our quiet hallways will be full of energy again, and we couldn't be more ready.

Earning school credit over the summer is one thing. Workshopping a musical and taking it to one of Rochester's biggest stages is another!

Thanks to the NYS BOOST program, School of the Arts students spent their break earning academic and art credits while building a full stage production. Their show, Hephaestus, is a high-energy folk opera filled with catchy, jazz-infused music you'll be humming all the way home. 🎶

Catch their performance on Wednesday, September 16, at 6:00 p.m. in the Allen Main Stage Theatre as they open the SOTA POPS! Fringe lineup.
