The POA Library The Physics-Optics-Astronomy Library at the University of Rochester During the academic year the library is open seven days a week for a total of 85 hours.

At the University of Rochester, all physics, optics, and astronomy majors share a single home where they suffer, goof-off, and otherwise solve the mysteries of the universe. Most of their precious time is spent in this great library: THE POA

The Physics-Optics-Astronomy Library (POA) supports the instructional and research nee

ds of students and faculty in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Institute of Optics. The collection is especially strong in astrophysics, biophysics, condensed matter, nuclear and high energy physics, optics and quantum mechanics. The library houses a growing History of Optics collection. We subscribe to 225 journals and provide access to more than 10,000 electronic journals. POA Library has four public workstations connected to a black and white/color printer, and also a public copier . The printer and copier work with copy cards only. University of Rochester students with flex accounts can use their ID's to make copies. Visitor cards may be purchased at machines located at the Carlson and Rush Rhees circulation desks and at the ITS Center on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library.
