Our two new sets (2 pants and 2 coats) of turnout gear have arrived. We want to thank the Ky Fire Commission for funding this grant and America's Bravest Equipment Company for making the ordering process quick and easy. The grant allowed us to order two sets of gear with a 100% reimbursement amount of up to $7000.

We have had a few folks ask if we are planning on having our car show this year. The short answer is absolutely. After a few years of bad weather in the spring we have decided to move the date to the end of August. We don't have a date in stone yet, but should have one soon. If anyone knows of another organization planning a car show at the end of August ( last couple Saturdays), please let us know so we don't plan over someone else. We are also planning to have a fish fry with our car show this year.

We are also planning a smoked bologna fundraiser in a few months. More info will be coming on that in the next week or so.

So we are planning a few fundraisers for this year. If they are successful they will be annual fundraisers like our car show is now. Please check back here later on for updates and please share. We need the community to support us if we are to be successfully, well equipped, and well trained.

A combination of well-above average temperatures, low relative humidity,
breezy winds, and worsening drought conditions will result in elevated fire weather conditions for this afternoon.

Winds will be out of the southwest this afternoon, gusting up to 20 to 25 mph, and relative humidity values will drop to around 25 to 35 percent across the area.

Conditions will improve after sunset as winds slowly decrease and relative humidity values increase.

Please NO BURNING TODAY!

Kentucky Mesonet tells the story. Lack of significant rains along with the warm temperatures and winds we have experienced means Kentucky's fire danger has remained high. Our firefighters, local volunteer fire departments and US Forest Service have worked tirelessly to battle the wildfires that have occured, Give them thanks by not burning and reporting any arson activity you see.

We want to thank everyone who came out for our chili supper tonight. We had a great time talking to the candidates and community members. The money raised tonight will help purchase helmets, gloves, boots and hoods to complete the two sets of gear we were awarded by the Ky Fire Commission. One set of complete gear cost the department approximately $4500. We couldn't do what we do without the community's support.

We are pleased to announce that we were selected to receive $7000 to help purchase 2 sets of turn out gear. This grant was made possible by the Kentucky Fire Commission and must be used to purchase 2 coats and 2 pants. Boots, helmets, gloves, and hoods will need to be purchased by the fire department to complete the sets. We were among 200 departments that received the ppe grant.
