Rochester Public Schools operates and maintains its social media sites as a public service to provide information about District programs, services, projects, issues, events and activities. The purpose of District’s social media presence is to provide members of the public with information in more places and more ways than were traditionally available and to present infor
mation relevant to the stated purpose of this site, regarding matters of public interest in Rochester Public Schools. We welcome dialogue on our social media pages from all members of the community and encourage members of the Rochester Public Schools community to engage with us. Before posting on any of our official District pages, please review our Terms of Use below. These terms are subject to change. It is important to note that our social media accounts are not monitored 24/7. Likes, comments, and shares by the District are not a means of endorsement. • Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of Race, Color, Creed, Religion, National Origin, Sex, Marital Status, Familial Status, Disability, Public Assistance Status, Age, Sexual Orientation, and Local Human Rights Commission Activity.
• Violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist comments.
• Pornographic content.
• Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity.
• Comments that threaten or harm the reputation of any person or organization.
• Material which clearly appears to violate the intellectual property rights of another person.
• Private, personal information about a person published without their consent.
• Information that compromises school security.
• Private, confidential, non-public, or protected non-public data.
• Material intended to promote sale or distribution of products or services not offered by the District or spam of any kind.
• Information that is deceptive or misleading.
• Comments that easily identify students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms.
• Comments that do not show proper consideration for others' privacy or are considered likely to offend or provoke others.
• Comments that are off-topic or do not relate to the posted item.
• Comments intended to cause public panic or falsely claim the deployment of emergency services.
• Hyperlinks to material that falls into one or more of the foregoing categories. We reserve the right to remove any comments at any time, for any reason, but we hope that won't be necessary.
