The Oakland University Police Department is attempting to locate the owner of a dog that was found on campus.

Last week, we enjoyed a beautiful day at our Oakland University Recreation and Well-Being sponsored Walk With Campus Leaders event! ☀️🚶

The OUPD Command staff had a great time connecting with our campus partners, strengthening relationships, and getting to know one another better—all while staying active and promoting healthy wellness habits. Thank you to Recreation & Wellness for bringing us together for such a great event. We look forward to the next one!

🚔🐾 Public Safety Reminder: Never Leave Pets in a Parked Vehicle 🐾🚔

Look at this sweet face. ❤️ Animals depend on us to keep them safe.

As temperatures climb, never leave your pet alone in a parked vehicle—not even for a few minutes. On warm days, the temperature inside a car can rise dangerously fast, even with the windows cracked. In just minutes, your pet can suffer from heat exhaustion, heatstroke, brain damage, or worse.

🌡️ Remember:

* Cracking the windows does not keep a vehicle cool.
* Shade and cloudy weather do not eliminate the risk.
* If your pet can’t go inside with you, it’s safest to leave them at home.

🚨 If you see an animal in distress inside a parked vehicle:

* Call 9-1-1 or your local law enforcement immediately.
* Note the vehicle’s make, model, color, license plate, and location.
* If it’s safe to do so, stay nearby until help arrives.

A quick errand is never worth risking a life. Please help us spread the word and protect our four-legged family members.

If it’s too hot for you to sit in a parked car, it’s too hot for your pet. 🐶☀️

🚔 Today, Lieutenant Danielson and Officer Kolk recruited two Junior Officers to help process fingerprints. After learning some investigative skills, the Junior Officers put Officer Kolk under arrest! 😄 Great job to our young recruits for a fun day of hands-on learning and community policing. 👏 🚓

Our newest Comfort K9 is officially enrolled in Puppy Police Academy! 🐾

She has begun her training journey with the Oakland University Police Department, learning the skills needed to become a certified Comfort K9 and provide support, connection, and plenty of tail wags to our campus community.

Stay tuned as we follow her adventures through training and beyond! 💙🐶
