At tonight's meeting we discussed what is happening in Albany and more specifically, what some of the hangups might be with state budget negotiations as the deadline to pass it approaches. This interview that Jen Lunsford recently did with David Lombardo of The Capitol Pressroom demonstrates just how incredibly lucky we are to have her as our representative in the NYS Assembly. The deep, practical knowledge she has on this specific issue from being a personal injury lawyer is so impressive, and she is able to make even the wonkiest, complex issues accessible to her constituents.

Give the interview a listen, and hear for yourself why Jen is fighting for YOU, and not the big insurance companies. Thank you, Jen!

Assemblymember Jen Lunsford shares concerns with statutory changes proposed by Gov. Kathy Hochul to lower car insurance rates.

Our completed petitions (aka the “precious cargo” pictured here) were delivered to MCDC headquarters today! ✅

We blew through the number required to get our designated candidates on the ballot, and we could not have done this without YOU.

Major thanks go out to our committee members and supporters who walked door-to-door in terrible weather to get signatures (big ups to those of you who did more than one packet!!), and to every. single. person. who signed. ✍️ We appreciate your engagement with the process and commitment to democracy.

This is just the first, but no less important, step.
👏THANK YOU!! 👏

Haven't signed a petition yet for our designated candidates? Join Jenn Townsend this morning and check one more thing off of your to-do list! She'll be at Junction 361 from 9 - 11 am--hope to see you there!

Hello again!! Well… thanks to New York’s even‑year election law, I get the joy of running AGAIN. 🙃

I promise to try not to drive everyone nuts asking for support — but before any of that, I first have to get back on the ballot.

To do that, I’m looking for registered Democrats to sign my petition. It’s not a vote — just a quick “Yep, Jenn can be on the ballot.”

I’m keeping it super simple with a Coffee & Signatures drop‑in at Junction 361 on Saturday, March 14th from 9–11 AM. So, if you’re willing to help me stay in the running (and in the job a bit longer!), I’d be so grateful if you’d stop out, grab a cup of coffee, and sign — easy. ☕️✔️

Thank you for all the support — truly. 💙

Petitioning season has officially begun! Walk lists have been assigned, packets are in hand, and registered Dems all across Perinton can expect a knock on their door some time over the next few weeks. This is the process by which candidates can get onto the ballot, and your participation as a registered Democrat is crucial. All it takes is your signature (on each page—and there are lots of pages this year!), and remember that once you’ve signed someone’s petitions, you can’t sign anyone else’s.

We’ll be sharing more details about what to expect soon, but in the meantime, please check out the pages for our designated candidates as campaign season kicks off!

Interested in changing party registrations? This is the last week you can do so! Forms must be *received* by the Monroe County Board of Elections by Saturday, February 14th.

From the BOE:
"Voters can change their party enrollment online with a valid DMV issued ID or license at https://dmv.ny.gov/ or by completing a paper registration form and returning it to their County Board of Elections. Any change of party enrollment done via the DMV site requires an extra day to allow for transmission.

If you have a NY Driver's License, Permit or Non-driver ID card you can file a change of party enrollment online here: https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application. Because DMV needs the weekend to process the online request, it should be done through the DMV portal no later than ***February 11th*** to be timely.

If you do not have a DMV-issued ID or the DMV portal is not working for you, then you must file a new paper voter registration form with your local board of elections with your updated information. You can obtain a form from any post office, public library, government office or the county board of elections office, or you can print a form from our website.

Forms requesting a change of party enrollment must be RECEIVED by the local county board of elections no later than February 14th to be effective for this year’s June Primary."
