MCC Upward Bound is an after school program that assists low income young people from the Rochester Area become first generation college graduates.

Today, we were got to visit Surge Tech, Hospitality, and Nursing over at the MCC Brighton Campus. At Surge Tech, the students were able to dress a knee injury, attempt to put the surgical tools out in the correct position, learn how surgeons wash their hands and put on their PPE, and preform a mock surgery. At Hospitality, the students made baked mac and cheese, cupcakes and a fruit cup. At Nursing, the students learned about CPR, the Heimlich Maneuver, their heart rates, and how to check their pulse.
