Today, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office proudly recognizes Susie Garvison for her 26+ years of dedicated service to the citizens of Fulton County as our Civil Process Server.
For more than two decades, Susie has served with professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to ensuring the important work of the Sheriff's Office was carried out with integrity. Her dedication and strong work ethic have made a lasting impact on our agency and the community we serve.
Sheriff Travis Heishman shared:

🚨 TRAFFIC SAFETY REMINDER 🚨

We would like to thank the Fulton County Highway Department for spearheading the new digital speed signs project on Wabash Ave.

These signs serve as an important reminder that the speed limit between 18th Street and US 31 is **30 MPH**.

Our office will continue speed enforcement efforts in the area to help encourage drivers to slow down and keep our community safe.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help us keep Fulton County roads safe for everyone.

🚧 AUTHORIZED DETOUR – SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT 🚧

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind motorists traveling the authorized detour around the State Road 25 closure to obey the posted 35 MPH speed limit on:

📍 CR 500 N
📍 CR 500 E North
📍 Surrounding authorized detour routes in Fulton County

These rural county roads carry local traffic, farm equipment, residents, and changing road conditions. Please slow down and use extra caution while traveling through the detour area.

⚠️ Observe all posted speed limits
⚠️ Watch for detour signs and barricades
⚠️ Be alert for stopped or turning vehicles
⚠️ Allow extra travel time

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate long-time Merit Board member Kirk Robinson on an outstanding performance at the Duathlon National Championships in South Haven this past weekend!

On Friday, Kirk competed in the Standard Duathlon, finishing 5th out of 28 competitors in his age group with a total time of 2:41:53:
🏃 10K run – 8:00 pace
🚴 25-mile bike ride – 18.2 mph average
🏃 5K run – 8:10 pace

On Saturday, he followed that up with another impressive finish in the Draft Legal Duathlon, placing 7th out of 36:
🏃 5K run – 7:44 pace
🚴 12.5-mile bike ride – 19.1 mph average
🏃 2K run – 7:39 pace
⏱ Total time: 1:22:02

Both races qualified Kirk for the World Championships in Edmonton, Canada next July!

Kirk continues to inspire us all with his dedication, determination, and competitive spirit. We are proud to have him serving our community and representing northern Indiana on the national stage.

Their team provided new utility poles and the labor to professionally set them at the range. Partnerships like these make a real difference, and we truly appreciate their continued commitment to supporting local law enforcement and our community.

⚡️❤️ WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TWO WEEKS! ❤️⚡️

As we wrap up our “Ride the Lightning” fundraiser and our Law Enforcement & Corrections Appreciation events, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who helped make these last two weeks such a success.

First and foremost — THANK YOU to our amazing community for your overwhelming support of **Shop with a Cop – Fulton County**. Your donations, encouragement, shares, and hilarious comments helped turn this fundraiser into something truly special for local kids and families this Christmas season 🎄❤️

A huge thank you as well to all of our volunteers who stepped up and participated in “Ride the Lightning.” You all made this fundraiser fun, competitive, and entertaining from start to finish.

And yes… attached is the video everyone has been waiting for of **Andy Brubaker officially “Riding the Lightning”** after finishing with the lowest fundraising total ⚡️😅

We also want to extend a very sincere THANK YOU to all of our senior and administrative staff for everything you did over the past two weeks. From brainstorming ideas, setting up events, cooking meals, organizing games, decorating, tearing things down, and helping with every detail along the way — none of these events would have been possible without your support and hard work.

Between pizza for night shift, breakfasts, luncheons, games, and appreciation events for both law enforcement and corrections staff, your efforts helped make these past two weeks memorable for everyone involved.

We are incredibly grateful for the teamwork, support, and community spirit shown by everyone who helped make these events happen. Fulton County is truly blessed with amazing people. ❤️

After days of donations, nonstop trash talk, and some absolutely hilarious comments, the FINAL totals are in:
