For those who were not aware, May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and for those who follow our page, we have posted reminders to bring attention to Mental Health. May might be coming to end in a couple of days, but that doesn’t mean bringing awareness has to end. Mental Health affects all of us in one way or another, whether it be our own struggles or the struggles of someone we are close to or just know. The struggles are in our homes, at our jobs, in our schools and in some other place in our everyday lives. May might be coming to end, but that doesn’t mean our support has to end, our understanding, compassion and willingness to help should be present all 12 months of the year. For those that are struggling, remember, it’s ok to not be ok. You are not alone and there are people who will listen.

Rochester Police would like to remind you that non-emergency crimes can be reported using our online crime reporting system.

Our online crime reporting system is designed strictly for non-emergencies where there are no known suspects and no immediate dangers.

Those wishing to file a report online can easily do so using any electronic device/smart phone via our website, https://police.rochesternh.gov. We even have an online crime reporting terminal right in our lobby for anyone to use for free!

Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free. Using the Online Citizen Reporting System you can report incidents such as:
• Property Damage, Lost Property, Telephone Harassment, Thefts and Scams

Please confirm the following to find out if online citizen police report filing is right for you:
• This is not an Emergency? If the crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, contact Police immediately.
• This incident occurred within the Rochester Police Department City limits?
• There are No Known suspects?
• This did not occur on a State Highway?

If you answered yes to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report online at https://police.rochesternh.gov/online-crime-report.html

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. We honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement across the country and thank all the women and men who serve/have served the City of Rochester.

National Police Week is a reminder that the law enforcement community stands together through grief, remembrance and service.
This week, we honor the fallen officers whose sacrifice will never be forgotten and the families who continue to keep their memories alive. We also recognize the officers who continue to serve their communities each day, carrying that legacy forward.
