The Rochester Fire Department has over 500 uniformed and non-uniformed members, who represent the ethnicity of the community as a whole. The department was established with the mission of saving lives and property. Although the mission is still the same, firefighters on the department today perform various other duties as well such as vehicle extrication, medical emergencies, high-level rescue, ha

zardous materials incidents, structural collapse, swift water rescue, and many more emergency operations. Unfortunately, we are unable to send any patches; we will not reply to any requests for a patch.

Today’s conversations are shaping tomorrow’s leaders. 🚒

Youth from around Rochester came together this afternoon for a day focused on growth, responsibility, and finding their voice.

Our Deputy Chief of Community Risk Reduction, David Abdoch, joined a lineup of powerful speakers to share his journey in the fire service - connecting real-life experience to conversations around identity, self-advocacy, confidence, and community impact.

Moments like this matter. Exposure, mentorship, and honest stories help shape the next generation of leaders.

Thank you to the City of Rochester, NY, DRHS, Rochester City School District, RCSD Office of Parent Engagement, and community partners who continue creating opportunities like this.
