Al Sigl Community

Al Sigl Community Al Sigl Community of Agencies is a collaborative community network of independent human service agenc And we’re still going strong.

Our Community of Agencies is in every way rooted in Rochester and its surrounding communities. The full offering of services we make possible has helped children and adults with special needs to realize a better standard of living for over half a century. Founded in 1962 with one "dream home" on Elmwood Avenue, the Al Sigl Community has grown to encompass six campuses. Today we are proud to serve

a dynamic group of key care and rehabilitative channels in communities throughout Monroe County. Everything we do stands on the idea that the combined power of many generates greater power together.

We are excited to announce that the Al Sigl Community of Agencies Board of Governors welcomed new officers in April as Immediate Past Chair Matt Parrilli, officially introduced Roberta Langie Van Winkle as Chair.

Other Officers include Vice-Chair Elma Borcilo-King, Treasurer Lawrence Creatura, and Secretary Matt Weins. The Board of Governors welcomed new members Gary Black, Conor McMahon, and Elizabeth Milavec. The Al Sigl Board of Trustees also welcomed new members Ryan Brandt and Kevin Halpin.

Roberta and Ryan are both second-generation volunteers, introduced to Al Sigl, by their fathers, Lou Langie and Roger Brandt, respectively. Each served on the Board, and each also shared over 30 years of support for our non-profit mission.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous gifts of time, talent, and service shared by our dedicated volunteer leaders. Thank you for helping us Achieve More Together.

🛺⛳ In recognition of National Mobility Awareness Month this May, we’re spotlighting one of the ways our golf tournament has made a difference. Each year, tournament funds are distributed as grants to our seven Member Agencies. These grants often cover program activities or needs not covered by other sources.

In 2018, funds raised helped purchase an adaptive golf cart. The cart is available at the tournament and in the community for players of all ages and abilities through our partnership with SportsNet inclusive recreation. In addition to the health benefits of staying active, access to mobility tools like this cart can provide greater opportunities for individuals of all abilities to enjoy time with friends and family.

🚨 Spots for this year's tournament are close to selling out but there is still time to reserve your foursome today.

We hope you will join us on June 8th at Midvale!

💙🌿We are so grateful to our friends at L3Harris Technologies for volunteering during this year’s United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes Day of Caring.

They showed up with bright smiles and incredible energy as they worked alongside Al Sigl’s Grounds Team to w**d and mulch the main gardens on our Elmwood Campus.

Thank you for your hard work and for taking the time to help make our space beautiful and welcoming for the many people who visit Al Sigl each day. 🌺✨
