Local Police Chiefs including our Monroe County Sheriff (D) have been pleading for our State Legislators to change the Criminal Justice "Reforms" to keep habitual offenders off the streets.
This weekend, two Greece Police Officers and one Deputy Sheriff were injured due to the violent actions of "career criminals." One offender was on Parole and one was on Probation.
The safety of our communities should not be a political issue. We can all agree we want our families safe.
It's frustrating that the Democratic strong hold in Albany will not take a second look at the laws they changed over these past 5 years and have hunkered down in the "party" beliefs when it comes to crime and justice.
Unfortunately, our communities are under attack and this IS now a political issue
If you back the safety of our Police Officers and believe in a safe community, it is going to take electing Republican candidates to go to Albany and change these pro criminal laws.
This election on November 3rd is not about Republican or Democrat, it is about electing officials who have common sense and put law abiding citizens first.
When candidates come asking for your vote; ask them their position on career criminals and what common sense should look like.
