Another yearly tradition that South Ave. RFD: Truck 3/Engine 33 gets the honor to participate in Strongs Stroll for Kids! What a great event for a great cause! A big thank you to all the walkers and runners that showed up together to support the pediatric patients at Golisano Children’s Hospital right here in our neighborhood!

Tonight we got to meet the future of the fire service! These bright young adults stopped by on their way to the prom for a quick photo op and to tell us their plans for joining the department!

Truck 3 received a GENEROUS gift of nostalgia from long-time Rochester Protective Tom Margis. Tom is a collector and historian. He owned the Truck 3 tiller that was stationed on Emerson Street in the 1970s. When he decided to get rid of the rig, he knew the door plaques, a signature of the Rochester Fire Department, needed to come home to the Truck 3 firehouse. Now located on South Ave., Truck 3 serves the UofR, South Wedge, Mt. Hope, Collegetown and Swillburg.

We are proud of our firehouse and the people who work here. These plaques remind us we are part of a continuum of firefighters and fire apparatus that serve this community.

Thank you Tom for this generous gift and the historic stories. These plaques will be part of the Truck 3 firehouse forever!

Members of Truck 3 Group 2 rescued a cat that was wedged in a gutter today. The cat was extricated unharmed and happy to be back with its owners.
